I Just Want To Be Me!

Social media has both its positives and negatives. From the posts regarding makeup, hair, cosmetic surgery, exercising, diets, food, parenting skills, politics and every genre and idea one can think of; it gets confusing and everything is posted and found on social media/internet. I will admit, sometimes this may skew my idea of beauty. I may take a walk outside and see that women are made up completely and I have just added some moisturizer and gloss. Women are posting pictures and it looks as if they walk outside daily looking like supermodels while I may just have jeans and a shirt on. Attending religious services and there are big hats and big sleeves everywhere, while I may have just put on a nice simple dress. These images that we see may make us feel inadequate or different.

You are right to think that you are different. You are unique, peculiar and beautiful just the way you are. Sometimes, if I feel like stepping out with heels and makeup to go to the store I do that. If I want to rock an afro or another hairstyle, I do that too. From glasses, shades, no makeup, to makeup, high fashion or goth, it doesn't matter, as long as you are comfortable in the skin that you are in.

If no one has told you today that you are beautiful. I am now. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. You are taking the time to find out about me, about yourself and how you can be greater. It doesn't take a rocket science to know that YOU ARE AMAZING! Let your hair down and bask in your greatness. You don' look like the next person and neither should you. Just be you!
